The Italian Gallery

The Italian gallery consists of amazing beautiful photos shot by Raul Moreno, while he was in vacation in Italy. All the photos from the Italian gallery take place in Rome and Venice. While Raul was in vacation he visited The Palace of Vittorio Emanuele the second, the Colosseum, the pantheon, St. Peter's Basilica and the Trevi Fountain just to name a few. Rome, Italy's Capital, is a sprawling, sophisticating city with nearly 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture on display. Ancient remainings such as The Forum and the Colosseum, join us on our journey as we evoke the power of the former Roman Empire.

The Colosseum

The Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. Built of travertine limestone, tuff, and brick-faced concrete, it was the largest amphitheatre ever built at the time and held 50,000 spectators. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72 and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir. it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles (for only a short time as the hypogeum was soon filled in with mechanisms to support the other activities), animal hunts, executions, re-enactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Classical mythology.

The island of canals

Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated on a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. The islands are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave rivers.
